About Artist

Dan Brandemuehl is an emerging sculptor in the Denver art scene. After developing careers in business and education, he finally tapped into a long-harbored passion for stone sculpture through classes at the Art Students League of Denver in 2002. He has independently studied classical sculpture in Europe, while honing his stone carving techniques at the MARBLE/marble Symposiums under Madeline Wiener. Inspired by direct carving techniques, Dan’s style has been shaped by 20th century sculptors such as Moore, Brancusi, Botero and Maillol. His stylized, organic forms impose a modernism onto the primitive sculptural shapes of early man.

Dan Brandemuehl’s sculptures are being represented exclusively through Ironton Studios and Gallery, where he has maintained his studio since 2003.
